2013 @ SSAS was a year brimming with productive art goodies. This is a BIG THANK YOU to the many folks who made each month so abundant.
2013 … and a gloriously fruitful year unfolded …
JANUARY – big thanks to the Mixed Media and Professional Practise art groups @ SSAS – for being so patient whilst much fuss and focus was on preparing for our June group exhibition.
FEBRUARY – big thanks for all the seriously good giggles from the lassies attending MISSY MESSY art classes @ SSAS
MARCH – big thanks to Chandra Easton and Shri Kirti Saraswati for guiding a series of beautiful and powerful meditation workshops. Plus big thanks to all the spiritually yummy people who attended.
APRIL – big thanks to Julie Collins (Public Arts Officer @ Ballarat City Council Arts and Culture Unit ) for enabling my solo exhibition ‘BIRD BOXES’ at Unicorn Lane Gallery, Ballarat
Swans, swans, swans … all year long
MAY – another swan … big thanks to Jenny Jewel Swan – for her sublime Tara Dance teachings, held @ SSAS
MAY … and then I turned 50 ! … I attempted to ignore this fact … at least for a few weeks until after the next exhibition opening … but my sister Wendy (from NZ) dropped in for a SURPRISE happy birthday ! Much enforced chocolate cake eating ensued !

AUGUST – big thanks to Lead On Ballarat Officer Emily McDonald for hosting Thursday night art sessions with young people. Fun facilitating and making painting along with Ash Nicholls.

OCTOBER … and then I fractured my leg ! Big thanks to Trevor Williams (owner of B1 Gallery) for loaning me a wheel chair – so I could keep up the swan’s for the next exhibition
NOVEMBER – ta-dahh – swans complete. Exhibited along side student and other art tutors from Berry Street (Child and Family Services)

DECEMBER – big thanks to ITCH – celebrated Melbourne Street Artist who came to Ballarat – to paint with the teens from Berry Street (Child and Family Services) One 17 year old told me ‘probably the best christmas prezzie I’ve ever had’.
DECEMBER … and then the festivities began … Not tooo wickedly … this is the watermelon cake with coconut cream icing for Christmas picnic, with the swans (of course) at Lake Wendouree, Ballarat.
The finale layer of icing-on-the-cake for 2013 was spread by Michelle Dunn http://michelledunn.com.au/ photography tutor at Berry Street. Michelle created a stunning 2 minute film featuring art by our students. BIG thank you Mitch
